300 East Main Street
Location:
Downtown Durham, NC
Project Description:
The East Main Street project was an addition and renovation to a building in Downtown Durham that is listed in the historic registry. This building is nearly 32,000 square feet in size. This building was built in the mid 1920’s as a Masonic lodge, and constructed of cast in place concrete columns, beams and floors. The new building addition functions as the primary egress and houses a new elevator. The existing building was intended to function as a mixed-use facility. The top floor of the building was built as a custom apartment for the building owners and the remaining floors were completed as shell spaces for future tenants.
